Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the organizing process like? What can I expect if I work with you?

The process starts with an initial, free consultation. I’ll come to your home or office and we’ll spend 30-60 minutes looking at the space and talking about your goals, a plan of action and your budget. I’ll ask you to sign a Service Agreement which will spell out what I’ve agreed to do for you and then we’ll start work. We’ll work at your pace, whether that’s an hour or four hours at a time.

As for what to expect when working with me, you’ll find I’m non-judgmental, optimistic, energetic and eager to help you make progress toward achieving your organizational goals.

How much time will it take?

Sorry, but I can’t give you an exact answer here, because the answer depends on what you want me to do. After our initial consultation I’ll have a better idea of the time the project may take. Remember: You are free to set a time budget and make it part of our agreement.

Will you make me throw things away?

No. What I will do is help you explore why you’re attached to an item and the pros and cons of keeping it or getting it out of your home or office.

Should I have smelling salts ready in case you faint when you see the mess at my home or office?

No! I’ve never fainted yet. Please don’t be embarrassed or worry that I’ll laugh at or criticize you. My job isn’t to judge or criticize but to help you bring order to your chaos and feel better about your surroundings and yourself. Also, please do not clean up before I arrive for our initial consultation. I need to see the “real” situation.

I work full-time and I can’t take time off to work to do organizing projects. Can you still help me?

Absolutely. Evening and Saturday appointments are available for people who cannot be at home on weekdays or who can’t tackle organizing projects at the office during working hours.
